River and I loaded up the decoys and headed to are favorite spot today on the PendOreille River. It was a wanderful day with lots of waterfowl in the air. I took 100 decoys but decided to only put out 25.
The sun was suppose to be out and I was in hopes of getting 5 or 6 shots that I would like. It tried to snow a bit, but was fastly put out by the sun rays peaking throught he clouds. I hope you tag along
with me as my day unfolded.
1st pic is a tribute to my best friend River my AWS. After reading the post about Eddie and others loosing there dogs, I have realized that she is only here for a short while. She is six yrs. old now. Seems as though I just got her.
The next pics are of some pintails. There are very hard to harvest on this side of the state, usually I take two or three in a season. They were everywhere, as they had started there spring migration headed to the north country.
Of course there were lots of redheads, I hope not to bore you with all the redhead pics. They were in my decoys all day long.
Please let me share a few pics of some bluebills. I have memories of days hunting with the snow falling and the bluebills attacking my decoys, that can't ever be beat. They were the reason I became a diver hunter. I hope you like these
Now, we can't forget about the puddlers can we. Wigeons were trying to land in the diver set. Go figure.
Now some misc. birds. Gadwall,Bufflehead.
And I can't finish without some goose pics. They were everywhere. Started to mate up and doing a lot of fun stuff.
I hope you enjoyed our day in the marsh. Its going to be a long off season, so I am doing my best to speed it up. I also want to thank all the new people that have joined this site. There is so much talent on here.
And a special Thank You to Eric for letting us all hang out here around the fire.
