Happy Birthday Big Guy

Oct. 5th is my wife's birthday, too...

Lee...miss you. Hope you've got the spot scouted out when we get there...watch the cans sneaking in from the left...

Dear Bridget,

I met your wonderful father here, on this website. Way back in its infancy, this fellow named Lee Harker mentioned that he lived in Sturgis, Michigan. I sent him a note, introducing myself. I stated that my dad had built a cottage on the St. Joe river, back in the early 60's.

Thanks to this website, your dad and I became great friends. He is still sorely missed by so many. What a wonderful legacy he left behind.

We all have an opportunity to go where your dad has gone. I plan on it. But in the meantime, we all have a great opportunity to make a difference here in this world... just like your father did.

Happy Birthday, you big rascal!

God Bless,

Mark

I took dads brand to the tattoo artist and he traced it so its an exact copy.

Bridget,

This, I'm sure is a difficult week for you. My mothers birthday would have been the 5th, my dad's would have been today. I'd talked many times to your dad thought the years about everything from siding and windows to ducks and boats. Your dad and I are the same age and had a long discussion about growing up and how much we had in common when we found out we graduated from highschool the same year. We had discussed last fall about getting together with some of members of this board as well as the Mighty Layout guys this fall before I move from the midwest to Florida in December. I'll be 54 on October 21st and I'm sorry we'll miss that meeting.

God bless you, Blake and your family. This board has always been like an extented family and of course your dad will always be a part of it.

Take care,

Ed L.

One of a kind, he was. Gone before his time..... Keeps things in perspective, that is for sure.
