Hard Hitting Duck Guns

I certainly appreciate Steve Sutton posting information about me bring in English doubles for waterfowl. This will be a small time venture, more for my personal enjoyment than anything. I like to buy guns. This way I can buy them, look at them, and then pass them on. I have a friend in England looking for suitable guns. We are especially trying to find 12 bore 3 inch guns. Also, I am going to try to offer guns under $2000.00. I currently have eight listed on my web page:www.sinkbox.com. Two of these are sold. I should have between 4-6 guns coming in by mid-August. Thanks for your interest. Worth Mathewson

Joe, Yes I have given some consideration to hammer guns. Some problems however. Today most good hammer guns are already over here. For the past five or six years they have been leaving England for North America in container loads. Then most hammer guns are game guns, rather than wildfowling guns. The heavy proof live pigeon hammer guns go for big bucks. Finally, it isn't as easy to find wildfowling hammer guns in the condition I am comfortable in re-selling, unless I move far up in price. I am going to try hard to keep the price under $2000. And that just about means boxlock non-ejectors. (guns with ejectors really up the price) But if my friend runs across something suitable, at a good price, then I might just stock a hammer gun from time to time. Best, Worth Mathewson

Thanks Worth, for your candid response.I find that in SxS's I prefer non ejector guns for all hunting.
The ejectors only add more parts that can break or get out of timing and they make the gun harder to open,
after firing.I like them on pigeon guns and clays though.I believe you have a sound approach to what you will achieve.
