Hey AL, ready for more rain?

Carl,
The outer bands are now in southern NM. We were commenting about them this morning while eating breakfast. Our forecast is for rain to hit beginning on Wednesday. YEA!

Yesterday, Bev and I were coming back from Capitan, NM and saw how low the Rio Grande was. I checked its flow just now and it is down to 9.3cfs. As so many New Mexicans have told me, "At least there is water there and not sand!"

Let it rain. Our duck season opens on the 22nd, just 16 days from now. Thanks for that update, Carl.

Glad to help.
I keep up with the National Hurricane Center website weekly to daily, its part of my duties here in the AL Coastal Program to keep an eye on tropical weather.
The last couple of years have been un-eventful for us. Thankfully.
2003-2005 was quite a different story, especially 2004 when our big Atlantic/Gulf hurricane tracking chart in the hallway looked like a bowl of spaghetti!

Hope the water sticks around for you and you get in some good hunts!

Al,

First off hope you get some rain soon but the reason I posted was because you mentioned Capitan NM. Spent many of great days there and had a very close family friends that lived there. Thanks for jogging the memory bank.

Neil, we met the last party to get one of Habi's pups. In fact, we all had lunch at Smokey Bear Cafe. You should have seen the elk hunters, Neil. This is a great little spot up in the mountains.

All the meteorologists that we listened to (3 local channels out of ABQ) predicted that we would have some rain here on Thursday. I liked your forecast much better, Carl. It started to rain here this morning around 11:00. I'm hoping it will continue for a while. I just checked the river's flow and it was at 7.7cfs an hour ago. That means I would have to look hard to find a spot where I could actually float a decoy.
Fingers crossed!
Al

Hey Carl, we got dumped on last night. I slept through it but Bev told me it poured and then rained for about 2 hours. It was welcomed.
Al

That's great news! Hope some water sticks around for your opener.
