Hey Lou you out there - H Bday

I may take you up on that some day Lou. I've caught some really nice Walleye trolling in the Detroit River, but never duck hunted up there. All my travels there were in the spring and summer...I think we "jawed" about that at WL. But I will be at WL...I still think about that and our visits there...what a super time it was. They need to have it a week earlier or later though, it's always on FL Spring Turkey opener.

Happy BirthDay Lou.
I haven't checked in here in a bit but we met in Westlake.
I hope your tooth healed after biting into one of the duck nuggets out there on Sunday night.
I'll be sure to let you know next time I'm in Macomb Township visiting the in-laws.

Regards,
Kenley

Amazing how time flies!

I've always enjoyed my talks with you about the "early" days of hunting before your interest in duckhunting (and before the invention of gunpowder).

It must have been cool to actually see and hear Abraham Lincoln up close too! Talk about "Four score and 7 years ago"! "Whew!

Hi Kirk,
Thanks much, you've been fun to work with & I applaud you on your jump into the boat manu. business. A lot of folks have helped me along the way and it's been a joy to be able to pass that on.
Keep rockin' partner,
Lou

Kenley,
Thanks for the well wishes.
Yup, I recall jawing with you at WL. Yup, as I recall, I was the only one who found some shot in the duck nuggets....but, it was worth it......great stuff.
Definitely give me a holler any time you get into town.
Later partner,
Lou

Yo Scott,
I remember those early days and that picture. It was surprising that somebody had a camera that day....go figure. As I recall, you had finally finished your gathering apprenticeship and had received your conditional hunter safety training and were certified to wield a club but wanted to move up to rocks. That's you on the right, struggling to lift your rock. That's ok, we let you drop it on the bear afterwards. It's always rewarding to mentor a new hunter and help him ascend from gathering to true hunting. That's what makes a man.
Sure glad we've moved from fire water to Sapphire & Tonic.
Later partner, thanks for all the good times.
Lou

Happy belated birthday Lou.

I think Dave Parks took that picture. Where he got the camera back then I don't know.
Time machine?

Thanks much, belated beats never. ;) Had a great day. Spent some time in the shop (I still love going to my shop). Opened presents...had some cheese cake with only one candle (fire department regulations in residential areas you know). Both my sons were here, all three grand kids & the Wife. And spent some of the latter evening in the model barn. Great day.

I'm sure, if any body could find a camera back then, it was Dave. He probably even developed the processing equipment too........and traded rocks from his quarry for the equipment he couldn't build.
Thanks partner,
Lou
