Poor Woodrow is going to be in for weather shock. After basking in that warm Florida sun and waters to this:
The upper food plot looks a bit chilly now, but by late March it should be greening up.
Several nights with lows of 10 degrees put 1" thick ice on all the ponds and drove the wood ducks down to open water on the river. But it will soon thaw out and the birds will be back.
Poor Judy had a hell of a day yesterday trying to make her run getting the kids home. They shut down the scholls at 1 PM and told the parents to come pick up their kids at all the schools. Trouble was, not all the parents could make it. Judy agreed to make one run and pick up whatever kids were left stranded at the schools. She made it by going very slow even though she could not get up some of the steep roads. She had to let some of the kids walk the short distance to their homes. All I know is that you could not pau me to drive that bus un-chained on yesterdays roads, but she did.
When she got home I put the chains on the bus tires and got it ready for this mornings run, but by 6 pm last night we got the call saying they were closing all the schools for today becasue the snow ontop the iced over roads were just too much to handle for the drivers. Judy needed the break and sh'e spent the today sewing us up some more camo clothes by the warmth of the wood stove.
Bring a warm coat Woodrow!
