Higdon Tipping Goose Floater - worth it?

Has anyone used Higdons's tipping canada goose floater that Wade Bourne talks about in one of his article on DU's webpage. Was wondering if it's truely as remarkable as he says. Any reviews or comments from people who've actually used one are welcome. thanks.
 
I like mine. Good for rippling the surface on calm days, and really gets their attention on any sunny day when that big, white butt flashes. Needs a clean bottom to work properly; weeds will tangle the line and head quickly. Doesn't go on every trip, but can add something they don't see in every other spread.

Where did you get the decoy ? I went to Higdon's website and looked at their dekes. I did not find tipping FLOATER decoy. I'd like ot take a look at it if someone has a link to it .

I spoke to Higdon before starting this thread-post. The tipping goose decoy is somewhat of a special order that they make once a year. they told me to check their web page in July-Aug, they should have another batch made up for next year. I cought a glimpse of one on a Higdon commercial aired on The Outdoor Channel during Waterfowler TV.

I've not seen this decoy. But, I added two goose butts to my brant rig and it has been a killer. In the salt they are always weeble wobbling anyway. The two brant in my avatar where suckers for it!

I first saw one in a Fred Zink video, and ran a WTB add on a couple of waterfowl sites. Turns out a guy living close to me had one he'd sell, and I bought it. His comment was that the places he hunts are very weedy, and it doesn't work well in those conditions. Saw another one this fall at the Pt. Moulliee waterfowl festival used for $60., and should have bought it. I's about the size of a BigFoot floater, styrofoam body with a cloth-covered flexible neck. I transport it in a seperate bag, and baby it as I don't believe it will stand much abuse. Hope this helps. Rob
