Houston area restuarants

Heading down on Tuesday and spending an evening. I think I have time for lunch and dinner on Tuesady. Traveling co,panino is looking for authentic Tex mix and a great BBQ joint. Tuesday evening we are staying west of Houston halfway to Sugarland (I think this is the name of the town - didn't make my travel plans this time).

Suggestions. Prefer BBQ for dinner

Tex-mex will be easy to find, there are plenty of places to satisfy that! Seems there are good ones around every corner. Pappasitos is good if you have one close.
BBQ in Houston may be slightly harder to find...not really, ha. I'm not really sure on a BBQ place in southwest Houston (sugarland) ..I'll ask a friend that lives in the area and see if he knows any. Try to find a Ruby's (chain) or spring creek..if all else fails.
 
Update, buddy said if you are anywhere remotely close, you gotta check out a local hole in the wall BBQ called JR's off I-10.. but its NE Houston.
 
By chance did you mean Rudy's BBQ instead of Ruby's? Been to Rudy's in Austin and it was good. Also went to the Counry Line in Austin and I thought Rudy's was better.
