How great a forum we have - Yamaha 15MSH

We all know how good we have it here, but this is just another example. Once I decided to try and get my hands on one of the very few leftover 15hp Yamaha motors.... I spent sometime on a Google search. Any reference I could find in the first 5 or 6 pages resulted in a on-line inquiry. I also posted my wish in the classified. Sure enough, several members took time to check their local areas, and Mike Braden was so kind to not only search his area, but he decided to look well out of his area, where he had a good buddy, such a good buddy, that he would impose on his buddy to drive an hour or so to dealers near him to pick up a motor if I needed that! Now fortunately we did not impose on the buddy that much, but I was speechless. I am still awaiting the email with the tracking number, but anticipate by early next week my new motor will be here! My wife said no more allowance until June!

So this weekend, I'll stop in at the local Yamaha dealer and pick up some Yamaha oil and fuel additive... and find a fuel filter/water separator and figure out how to install that in the sneakbox....

Thank you to all who posted results and those who also looked and did not find anything... I will be more attentive to others similar needs on the site and do my best to continue the goodwill that I have received.

FYI, if anyone else is looking for 9.9, 15, or 25 hp, Yamaha leftovers, I have some leads for you. PM me. Huge variation in price, depending on where you look.... and shipping was only $89 UPS freight for mine. Can't drive far in my truck round trip for $89 anymore!

Thanks again....

That's great Dave! Don't worry about a finder's fee hahahaha. Your credit is good with me. Just thank my office manager for doing such a good job that it allowed me a few minutes of my time to make a few calls for you. Everyday is supposed to start and end with a good deed. See you soon....

P.S. What a great price on the shipping!!! Post some pics and get a motor cover. Don't paint it.

That was the first thing Maria asked me... was I going to paint it green like the Johnson.... I know it would kill me to paint a brand new motor... I already have a shadowgrass full length cover for a 15hp.... and enough canvas leftover from my dodger, that I may have my Mom make a fitted cover with grassing straps like Dave Clark has shown. In fact, I know I will ask her to make it! I do have a birthday around duck season.

Wow! Congrats guys! Good stuff! I love it when a plan comes together :) I bought a 2009 yami last year brand new for my Estuary, and I'm glad I did!

Here's to working together!
