Huglu shotgun?

Son is in the Navy and I think he might be in turkey but he e-mailed me today and can get a Huglu 601- GA shotgun for 325 bucks new, was wondering if it is a good deal and are what quality of a gun are they?

I bought a Huglu S/S through a deal one of the fellas put together here on the site. The gun is a piece of junk. It's heavy, unbalanced & crude. The engraving is childish & crude. I wouldn't have wasted my money if I'd had a chance to "put eyes on it first". My bad.

Sounds like a good price for a SxS but who's going to fix it for you if it breaks? I bought a SxS about the same time Lou did. The first one wouldn't cock after about a box of shells - problem was the forearm hanger was never soldered in. The distributor sent me another one. Fired it a couple times in the backyard and then took it to a sporting clays course. The first target it doubled and I never shot it again. I sent it back and got my money back. Huglu USA would not support the dealer and basically said tough shit. At the time Huglu USA was owned by Mark DeHaan I believe.

If I were you I'd pass on this "deal". You won't know what you are getting until you open the box and if you don't like it, then what?

Huglu also makes some guns you can buy in turkey/eastern Europe only that are even worse than the quality of the guns here. I would be careful.

I have three De Hann SxSs 28, 20, and 12.De hann stands behind his products with a no BS two year warranty.Huglu makes trade guns for many dealers like CZ,etc. They also make guns sold direct in many countries.I had minor problems with the 20ga selector and the trigger pulls were too heavy causing me to flinch shooting clays.I paid a gunsmith to set them at 4lbs.Never-the-less I ordered a Hi grade 12ga w/double triggers.I am pleased with the gun even though the trigger pulls are a pound heavier than I ordered. They are crisp, and the shape of the triggers makes the difference.Course this gun cost $1600 and is the least expensive Hi grade.I noticed on his web site that Mark is only going to import the Hi grade guns due to the uncertain delivery of the standard grades.Workman on the Hi grades have at least 20 years experience, and it shows.I wouldn't buy the gun you mentioned, but if your son has time to check things out he might be able to get a custom gun made to order for under 1K.

I have a DeHaan U1 and have had no issues with it. Great gun for the money and deadly to boot. Excellent wood to metal fit and I could not be happier. I know they are not going to be selling the lesser grade models any longer but they were a good deal IMO while they were still available.
