Anyone else get a letter from “Active Outdoors” in the last week or so?
Last Saturday I received a letter stating that the data base for hunting and fishing licenses in three states had been hacked. The states involved were Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
My personal info including name, address, date of birth, and driver’s license number along with physical description may have been subject to unauthorized access.
The letter all looks legit and is not a scam as they are not asking for any info or action on my part. The letter is merely a notice of the breach and the resulting actions available to me due to this breach.
Just curious if anyone else had received this letter also. In case you are wondering who or what “Active Outdoors” is, they are a processing center, based in Texas, which processes the license information for the above named states. I am among the group affected, due to my purchase of a Washington hunting license for the “Old Farts Hunt” in Washington several years back.
