I hope to see you again Mikey....

Steve and Dani

So sorry for your loss. Not much more to add to what has already been said. Our dogs give us their undying love and all that ask for in return is a pat on the head. The bond between dog and owner can be strong and this same bond will help fill the huge hole that you are feeling right now. May God give you peace and comfort during your grief. Again, so sorry for your loss.

My condolences to both you and Steve, Dani. We got to watch Mike grow up around here, sharing in many of his stories. As others have said, he lived a great life.

Dani.....Sorry to hear of your loss. Like others have said, their lifes are too short, but the memories and attachment we have to them are great. The memories are what immortalizes them and you obviously had many.

Steve and Dani,
So sorry about Mike. He lived a great life. Im sure he is smiling down at you.

Wonderfully written, Dani. Condolences to you and Steve but congratulations for being lucky enough to have shared in Mike's adventure and affection. As my oldest one's muzzle grays, your photos are a good reminder to capture moments along the way with your camera as well as your heart.

Thank you again y'all. Your thoughts have helped more than I ever thought they would....

Dani

A nice tribute Dani. I was fortunate to hunt with Mikey during the Old Farts Hunt in 2005. He was a joy to be around - the young puppy was still evident and the tilt of his head when you asked him a question was precious. What a good guy he was.

Sorry for your loss Steve, Mikey was special.

Pete

Had the pleasure of hunting with Mikey ( yes he brought Steve along) in Washington State a number of years ago - It was a hunt I will never forget - I will never forget the way that Mikey searched the sky for birds.....Rest in peace!

Pete,

unlike most dogs Mike never lost that "head cock" and did it right up to the time he left. It was one of his most endearing traits and made you feel like he not only knew what you were saying, or asking him, but that he fully understood you.

Here's a picture from the same year when you hunted with him

Yep, you're right Dani. He sure was trying to understand and whether he did or not isn't important. Unfortunately I was only able to hunt with him a couple of times - the Old Farts Hunt in Washington and up in Manitoba for the MLB hunt. Most dogs are good dogs but Mikey was special indeed.
