January "What's on your Workbench?"

Bob, I used an acrylic by Galeria called, Vermilion Hue. It wasn't what I was looking for, but for whatever reason there seemed to have been a recent run on orange colored acrylics at my local art store, my options were limited to that and a very red shaded orange. It also turned out considerably brighter then it looked in the store. I painted it strait up to the first time, and as soon as it dried I knew it wasn't quite what I wanted. I am yet to try and mix up something new as our season ended last Saturday and I've moved on to carving more ducks for now. The mottling on the bill is raw umber that I thinned out with some flow aid so I'd get different shades of the bill orange showing through.
