Guys - I appreciate all the interest in Jim and his legacy. I know Debi does too. Ken Z, you are correct, several of us that gunned with Jim continue to use his decoys. I do and I know Dennis Hayes does. We also continue to use his layout boat all as a memorial to Jim...
When we had downtime when gunning with Jim, we'd always go walk the beach. Jim would search for driftwood he could put his artwork on. He loved beachcombing... He also put his artwork on the bottom of decoys. Amazing artwork! Some examples of Jim's artwork...
Thanks Vince I agree what good times. having white pizza, sitting on the deck drinking wine, listening to John Sharp tell his life story and seeing all the great decoys.
We don't know what we have till its gone.
Your brother
man these are beautiful birds. I could spend a month looking at these pictures.
I read somewhere once that Jim would treat his decoys at the end of each season with something, a coating of some sort that would improve longevity and give the birds more patina over time. Anybody have any information on that?
thanks
Jamus
