Good morning, All~

George Williams is hard at it....

He has completed the rehab on these Hens

And he found another Drake in need of rhinoplasty. Note how he made sure the grain runs parallel with the bottom of the bill.

Good morning, Tom~

Sweet ! I am really enjoying those classic lines in your birds!

Here are some more of George Williams' birds. His description:

11 mallards rehabilitated-9 left--seven are from 1985- two from 91--they are on the bench now. After that, 9 from the year we all found out that all cork did not behave like Wiley!
All to be hollowed, bottom boarded, painted and re keeled. Should work just fine!

Nice work as always Pat, love that gaddie! It would fit in well down here!

Thanks Bob! The pair on top are copies from a Henry Taubert decoy. The keels are some old keels I repurposed from a pair of Ken Anger decoys. Gonna use them at the club this year then sell them after season. Well see how they perform.

Thanks Rick! I hope you got your recent copy of Delta Magazine. Your redhead looks great! It also looked great in the rig at Longpoint this fall. You would have been proud. It lured many redheads within gunshot... Pat

Can't see from the photos, but the Anger's I had access to years ago in Ontario had a swinging lead keel weight...not the typical board type keel one pictures today. Still want some?

Good morning, Bryan~

That is one beautiful Butterball! Great subtleties all around.

Question: How did you texture the bird? A heavy gesso and sponge?

All the best,

SJS

Good morning ~

The latest from George Williams:

"Last of the group of four dozen-all rehabbed and ready tor this season.

The bottom shots were to explain what had to be done to this group--all made in 2005, BEFORE we realized that all cork did not have the properties of WILEY, and a caveat to all who are going into the insanity. It is IMPERATIVE that stuff be thoroughly sealed before painting.

These were a fun problem to solve. All have bottom boards and just need keels reattached."
