Well today I went fishing offshore. It was a nice day....pretty water....rolling swell (insert very very green seasick dani face here) and a few fishes. We started catching small fishes for bait and then using it to catch bigger fishes. Snapper, grouper that went into hiding with our hooks everytime, seabass and ringtailed something or another that is related to the sheepshead, and a cobia. This sucker was probably 60 lbs easily. We'll be eatin' good tonight! His stomach was filled to bursting with crabs and still he was out tooling around looking for the next snack, which happened to be about 20 yds off our boat. What fun!!!!

Nice cobia! I don't think I've ever seen one that big. On the way down to VA each year, we'd stop at the middle of the bridge tunnel and watch guys pulling them in on kite rigs. That was cool. I fished the Sebastian Inlet a few years ago and they were catching them there pretty good also. A lot of sharks there as well.

That bad boy is almost as big as you. I'm betting you are going to have to clean out the freezer to make room. Nice catch!

Thanks y'all...it was certainly a team effort to land that bad boy. When we butchered him, we split the meat up four ways...three batches for us and a batch for a bro in law. The filets were three inches thick through much of it!!!!!! We grilled some up this afternoon......what a delicious fish!!

Howard- I'm about 5'5" or so ...that fish was only a few inches shorter than me :)

We were near some wrecks but we had drifted off by the time that fish had bit. We had been headed towards a good wreck when we stopped at a little blip on the screen and dropped line and eventually anchor. Fun fun! Delicious fishes!

CObia, lemonfish, crabeater, ling, whatever you may call them, they sure are tasty! And they fight like hell.
Glad you had a good trip, I hope to get offshore soon. I need the Dramamine when I go too!

hehehe , you could have used the bream we caught this weekend for BAIT ! or bait for the bait.....
congrats
