Just a Thermos vent

I was wondering if anyone has had issues with the Avery Neo bottle thermos not keep the contents hot ? I bought a brand new one and it has been since Feb that i finally got to use it , unfortunately everything i put in it that is supposed to be hot goes cool fast . I have tried boiling water and dumping it in and i will tell you even timing it it took 20 minutes for it to go warm ! I was talking to my friend Scott Farris last week during our decoy hunt here in RI he suggested calleing Avery , so i did . the answer was sorry cannot do anything about it ! Really it is brand new , so if anyone needs a 30 dollar paper weight i have one , but in the meantime i will look for another bottle to put in the neo sleeve . It is only a thermos but this just ticks me off !!!LOL

Where did you buy it? If its new, return it.

I had a Nissan stainless for years. That thing would keep hot chocolate "burn your mouth" hot for 8 hours.
I now have a Stanley and its almost as good.

I would think the manufacturer would help you. I had an old Stanley. Worked great but my wife could deal with most of the paint being gone, so she bought me a brand new shiny one. Same deal, tried everything and in a few hours it was barely warm. I called Stanley and they sent me a brand new one, no questions. Didn't even make me send the other one back. I think I still have it if you need two paper weights.

Have the same issue. Had a Stanley that was great that got damaged in a house flood so replaced with the Avery and I have dreaded using it this fall. Fwiw I have a Stanley on the Christmas list.

It's not just the Avery. Several companies are selling the same thermos private labeled from a Chinese manufacturer. I have the Flambeau version and it sucks. Same issue.

Same story with the Avery Neo bottle I bought. Now I stick with Stanley, or Thermos brand, pre heat with HOT water and no problems. Are you starting a paperweight collection? I'd contribute.

I was given one for Christmas a year ago. They are total Crap...By the end of the afternoon my coffee is cold. Good thing I have my handy Stanley Thermos. I love that thermos. I just went looking for some for my son and daughter $37.00 for a Thermos ouch....guess I'll keep looking.

I have several old Stanleys that work great even though two have been painted to ride in the Broadbill. Just had to pipe up here, the way to clean them well is to use denture cleaner tablets and boiling water. If I knew this years ago I would only have 2.

I have an older Stanley had its since I was 12, 36 now are the new ones as good as the old ones I have heard mix reviews? The one I have is stamped on the bottom made in Tennessee, just wondering since mine is starting to get weak.

I have 2 Stanleys. The green hammer finished ones. One is 30 years old and the other 2 years old. Both are great. I've had coffee left overnight and it's still hot enough the next morning to drink. After the crappy experience of the Flambeau I've been seriously thinking about painting one for the duck boat/blind. I wish Stanley would do one in camo or at least do one that eliminates the chrome.

Over 50-60 years I have had many. Years ago my favorite was a thermos brand with the glass bottle that I would modify with cardboard and aluminum foil. I currently have Thermos and Stanley stainless steel and my absolute favorite a Nissan. The Nissan is without a doubt the best I have ever used. Keeps hot tea - burn your mouth hot even late in the day.

I have an old Stanley which works well and a newer Thermos which seems to be just as good.

One thing I do which helps with both the camo and insulation is to wrap my thermos in neoprene. I cut a section of old neoprene wader material and sew it into a koozie the right diameter to slip over my thermos. Very easy to do and it does help when the thermos is exposed to single digit temps while ice fishing and such.

Your post put me in a panic. I just bought a Neo-Bottle from Wing Supply on Black Friday. It arrived, I washed it and put it with my hunting bag, awaiting our season to come back in. I have an older smaller Avery bottle that I have used for years, and works very well, but it is small, like 2 cups worth. It has no cover, but is powdercoated camo. Anyway.... I took the new bottle today, and first preheated it with hot tap water while the tea kettle was on the stove. When the water boiled, I changed it over in the Neo-Bottle. I was 2 inches short of filling it, but capped it anyway and put it in the refrigerator for the day. Pulled it out about 6 hours later, and the water was too hot to drink still. So maybe I got one of the Neo-Bottles that might work... will be a couple weeks until our season comes back in and even then maybe we won't have cold enough weather to tell?!

Thanks guys and sorry for the rant and late replies, i purchased it online and it was shipped from Ill as far as i can remember i have alot of Avery gear and have never had an issue so stupid me throws the receipt away and i cannot find any record of where i even got it . The bottom line i would think Avery would stand behind it but i guess not ! Oh well it a lesson learned of coarse but i am going to look into some of the other recommended here. Thank you all for the responses again !!
