L.L.Bean Coastal Black Ducks

I recently acquired 5 Coastal and one standard Bean black duck decoys. The standard was thrown on to make a half dozen. The 5 Coastal are like new as far as used decoys go and the standard has been sealed and painted. I bought these figuring o would seal with varnish and paint as mallards. Not a lot of Black duck action in the Mississippi flyway. Does this de-value the Beans terribly or just make them usable in my area. The Coastals are huge decoys

I suggest you get in touch with Dale Dalrymple at Dale's Decoy Den. He is an expert on Bean's decoys. With some good photos, he could probably tell you what vintage you have and maybe market value.

You've got 5 Oversized Deluxe and 1 Coastal Magnum.

In my opinion unless they are 90%+ they might as well be made usable. If you're end up not redoing that bunch and like the big ones let me know. I've got 6 Blacks that I redid and have never used.
