Hunted today with an all time best hunting partner. Back in the old haunts from where we started out. We have learned a few things over the years and enjoy the few chances we get to hunt together now. Mike P's oldsquaw is the farthest bird out on the left.

Bob Johnson's Brant is on the left in this one.

A few spent shells.

Notice the open can of Merganzer attractant under the stock.

Guess it worked! Had a nice day with a mixed bag and a few blown opportunities due to human error.

Here is Mike's Squaw and Bob's Brant with one of my Baloney wood Golden Eyes and a repainted LL Bean Black Duck. Tried like heck to blood the Squaw today but it was not meant to be. Next Year. Hope you all had as much fun as I did this season.

Hey you used it! Right on. Looks like you guys got quite the mixed bag there. Thanks for posting that picture Bob.

Mike it was killing me watching that bird ride my wifes piano, but we just have had NO duck weather.

Well this weekend it showed up. 27 deg. at the launch and a wind to beat the band after 8am. Very sad that we did not get a squaw with the decoy as it was our last day till next year, but I have a plan for both a warm and a "normal" cold season. I will post pictures of the plan this year. The brant and black duck are a treat down here and a squaw would have made a tri-fecta in line with the full McNab.
Thanks again for the bird. It is my fav. and I hope to carve a few mates for it this year.
Game dinner sounds great. I am the chairman for my clubs event. Do you guys have a recip. for raccoon? Got a pile of it for the first time and am looking for an edible solution.

We ain't got no coons around here. No possums, or snakes, or skunks neither. You enjoy that critter fest!
