I have a price list from a local supplier for Okkume. They have a 9mm which the describe as a "heavy 3/8ths". How do you think this would work as a substitute for 1/2 AC pine? I know it will be lighter. I'm wondering about strength. Price is $87.25 for a 4x8 piece.

Tks

Howard, I think you'll find it much better than "A-C Pine". It will probably have 2 or 3 more plys in it and there won't be any noticable voids. It IS marine grade..right? It will also not face-check over time. Sounds a tad pricey but import plywoods have gone through the roof with shipping costs. How many sheets are you buying? Some places cut the price on multiple sheet purchases.

I got this price list from Yukon Lumber. By local I mean an hour or 2 away. I think it is worth that much of a drive to be able to see it before you shell out the money. I think this company is down at the beach.
There are a couple more but I don't have the info right at hand. Bubba@yukonlumber.com

Did I mention I'm going to donate a 12' sneak box to the Gloucester DU fund raiser?

Ok, I bought the wood for my bluebill floor there. Its down near the shipyard. Whats the design on the sneakbox, yours?-j

It will be similer to this. It is modification of the design from the old Boat Builders Hand Book. Has a little more freeboard than a true BBSB but still rides the water like a decoy.
