Leo Mcintosh decoy photos?

Roy~

I remember Leo's work very well from back in the day at the U S National Decoy Shows on Long Island - I, too, love his work. I believe I judged with him one year. I will try to copy an image or 2 from the old Winners Lists.

All the best,

H&FC, and Decoy Magazine, did articles about Leo and his incredible work. Also the DCF ran a series of photo's of his work last year, from private collections. His flat art is as good as his carvings. He is very much missed, and his work still touches peoples lives.

Roy: There is a website ( stonycreekprints.com) that used to sell prints of Leo's flat art and also has a nice selection of Leo's decoys for viewing. Also as Vince stated, H & FC mag did a two part article ( Nov-Dec 2010 and Jan-Feb 2011 with a two page photo follow up in May-June 2011 featuring Leo's decoys). The articles refer to him as an American Master. Leo passed away way at an early age after suffering a stoke in 2007.

Also go on Artfact or Live Auctioneers and under archieves or sold you can type in his name and all the recent decoys that have come up for sale through Guyette and Schmidt, Decoys Unlimited or Copleys will come up. You might get a few other sales from other auction houses but that will at least get you some pictures instantly.

Good luck and they are nice decoys. A Leo M crow was up for sale in November at the GS&D auction in Maryland that I was considering.
