So, I know, I couldn't believe it either.

I laughed rather hard as I sent pictures through my phone to a few friends.

We had a relatively slow morning today with 5 geese and 3 mallards. Would you believe that one of the "small canada geese" was banded in Nunavut in '09?

3 bands in 4 days. One more and I think it might take away some of the excitement.

NAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

Best part is I just stopped and visited with Yukon Mike's parents so I'm sure I fueled up on luck along with the coffee!

I hope that luck rubs off on me this season...
This will be my 27th season hunting ducks and I have yet to shoot a banded bird

Don,t feel to bad CG,your not alone. This season is my 39th and I have 2 bands. The first one was a Canada goose that was banded about 12 miles from home. And the other was a pintail that my friend and I shot at the same time! Other guys that I hunt with get them from time to time but not me. Heck, my friends boy is 14 and he has killed 2 $100 bands already!

Good for you, Dave. Some of the other guys were talking about it------I started duck hunting in Minnesota in 1954 and in 2002, (48 years later) I shot my first banded duck. The only year I haven't taken a banded duck since then, was in 2008.

stop it already, bring that mojo back to ND.. nothing is going right for me on ducks this year, it must be that I accidentally shot a hen can on opening day and the ducks gods are punishing me.

I have been hunting for 52 years no bands. Maybe I could be Polish for a day. Hee hee Went with a Polish girl once.. that didn't help..

No bands tonight :(

I did scotch triple on those tiny little mallard sized geese. They got into a tight little ball at 35 yds and I couldn't help but try. Hevi Steel #6 have to be the best waterfowling load invented in the last decade and they discontinued the stuff.

I'm down to 3 boxes and am not happy about it.

Dave, save some for the rest of us. I had to laugh when I heard you are in a club with Jerry. Tell him you normally hunt with a Fox Sterlingworth but that you'll bring your Purdey out for special hunts. His eyes will pop out.

About those bands: $0.30 worth of aluminum. Whats the big deal?

Dude, I'm tellin ya "It's the Yukon effect".

See if you can take some skin scrappings off him and we'll clone us a Mini-Mike.
