Some of you saw I posted my sneakbox up for sale. It sold over the weekend and I used the money to buy my girlfriend an engagement ring. We have been together 5yrs so I figured it was time. I am sad to see the sneakbox go but a fellow duckboats member bought the sneakbox from me and will put the boat to good use . My thoughts are there are many duck seasons to come and only one stefanie so I am happy with my decision. So now I don't have a boat but I have a fiance.

Had to read that twice to make sure which "her" you were talking about. :)

All the best wishes! You'll replace the boat sooner or later. Just make sure to do it before the little ones come along!

That must be one special gal for you to sell your duckboat in order to buy a ring. Congrats on the engagement.

Congrats, Chris ... I've been with my wife for 40 years now -- with your sort of devotion, I'll bet you'll do the same ...

Thanks for the kind words. Boats and duck seasons come and go but Stef is special and a keeper. As far as an auto loader Stef bought me an auto loader for Christmas a few years Back. She has always been supportive of my hunting. A girl who buys you a duck hunting gun is a keeper. Also this means I need to look for a new build or rebuild project. A hunting buddy of mine just got a chocolate lab so we are thinking of building a devlin black brant lll for us to hunt from in the near future.

Congrats and ouch all at once. I hope she wants a sneak box big enough that she can tag along.

I agree with Chris get her a nice auto loader.

I know you have some guys that you hunt with and get out with Rich from time to time. Give me a shout if you need a ride. I will make room. You are not far from me now either.

RE: Getting her a nice autoloader.

Be careful, that can backfire. My dad gave my mother a fishing rod for her birthday one year, hoping she'd join him on the stream. It didn't work out. If anything, it made her totally resistant to ever going fishing with him. And that incident got brought up in just about every fight I ever remember them having!

Congrats Chris! She must be special to give that boat up for. We watched the blood, sweat and tears you poured into that boat. Plus she's a keeper if she's buying you guns! Here's my early birthday present from my wife of 26 years. Just in time for early goose this weekend.

Ed,
Nice new toy the wife got you. Good luck with the early goose season. Our early season for geese starts Monday I am going with some friends.

Hey Chris,

Congrats on the engagement. Sounds like she's a keeper and was worth selling the boat for. I'm sure you will get another boat one day.
Just remember you get out of a marage what you put into it. My wife and I have been together 28 years and 15 boats later we are still going strong.
Let me know if you need to get a duck fix as long as you don't mind driving to LI.
Best of luck for a happy and healthy future.
As said before, make sure to get another boat before the little one come along.
