I am in search mode for a new light weight one man marsh boat (aka Older Guy boat). Does anyone have any experience, and advice concerning the Bass Pro Shop Stealth 1200 Duck Boat?

Vince, i cant help you with the stealth boat but you may want to look at the marsh rat. my buddy has one and loves it. he just put oar locks on it and says it rows really nice. it weighs 68lbs... good luck

Vince-
Hi...It's Bill Abbate from NYC. I met you in Havre De Grace outside the museum with Jim Schmielin back in March/April. Check out the Momarsh Fatboy DP. It's the best 1-man marsh boat that I've come across. It light weight, paddles very easily, hides well, and most importantly; can't be tipped.

Check out Creek Boats, I have the 98 and I like it. I use it in the swamps and it works great. I paddle with a kayak paddle and tracks ok. Just something else to look at.

I have a stealth 1200. Pro's. Stable and safe. Cons, when paddling it doesn't track well. With an electric motor it's nice. The 2000 is wider and heavier, but has more room for gear. I hunt 2 men so lifting is not a problem. The 1200 I can move myself, but if your hunting solo there are better options. Aqua pod for 1. Good luck.

I use the 12' Bender boat. I'm 60 and can pic it up and pull it over the side with no problem. I use a shoving stick or kayak paddles.
Oh yeah the Boykins fits in it good with me and a dozen LL Bean corks. I think it ways 70 lbs. maybe less....good luck

Gentlemen - Thank you one and all for your input and advice. I knew that I could count on good info from the folks here. My old Appleton marsh boat didn't track well, so I'm used to that but it was a duck killin' machine cuz I could lay flat. I'm lookin' for something I can put on top of my SUV, and handle myself without gettin' another MI. Toss out about 11-13 decoys, secure by jammin' the push pole into the marsh mud, lay back and enjoy the view, with "Shoot Gun" ready.

I will check out ALL leads provided. Thanks again.

Bill I hope to see J.S. in a few weeks God willing.

I was going to recommend the Alumacraft Ducker. I have used it as a layout boat/blind in rice fields and it is comfortable and deadly. It is also very stable and can handle 2 guys sitting on buckets and shooting in the timber if the water is too deep for wading.
But that Half-breed looks pretty interesting. Easier to find on the market and less expensive than a boat that has not been built since I was in grade school.
