me and the dog

Headed out yesterday morning with just the dog, weather was calling for clear skies and temps in the 60's. I wanted to hunt an area of the refuge I only got to hunt once last year. Its a large impoundment and I wanted to do a little more exploring for this season. I knew there were quite a few birds using the northwest corner, but with the weather being so nice I wasnt expecting much. Much to my delight the birds flew pretty descent and I was able to bring a few home with me. The mallards didnt want to fly much but the spoonies and teal were cooperative, so I obliged them. also added a lone drake redhead to the bag. here is a picture of my four rivers boat all grassed out, it blends in perfectly with the large tracts of alkali bullrush we have out here.

Great photo! That looks like a fun place to hunt! Great headwind job! Im pretty sure those ducks never knew what happened. I started a new job with a company based in Park City. I've spent 2 of the last 4 weeks out there. It really feels like hunting season in the mornings. It was much cooler than out here in NJ.

The boat looks great........at least I think there is a boat in there somewhere!!! My blood is pumping for Friday morning opener. Lots of wood ducks and teal around.

Denny, If your out here and want to do some hunting let me know and Im sure I could get you on some birds.

Mike, if you dont see the boat then neither do the birds!!

headed out in the morning and hopefully I will have another picture to post

That was a great job of concealment. I'm hoping you will shag a few of those birds my way. We do get some from your beautiful state.

Joe, good job! Boat looks great, hows the new motor? Glad to see you getting out. We open up on Saturday so I'm taking off tomorrow and heading to Cambridge. I hear we're full up with woodies.
