Merry Christmas from Florida

Well i got up, duck hunting early this morning, but it wasnt to go shoot, or even to see what Santa left for me under the tree, i had to come to work :( but on my out to the truck i thought about something that brought a smile to my face, here it is christmas morning and i was quite comfortable outside in my shorts and flip-flops and while i may have been heading into work today, at least it isnt NEARLY as cold outside as it is where most of you live. so, i take the good with the bad.... i may have been driving to work but it was with the windows down! :) and tommorrows hunt will be done in short sleeves! So, Merry Christmas and Go Gators!!

Where is Citra Fl? I grew up on east coast in Cocoa Beach? What type of work do you do? ( shorts and flip flops, I'm jelous) .Thanks Ed

Citra is in between Ocala and Gainesville, we got a traffic light and a gas station and not much else, haha. And dont be to Jealous about the shorts and flip-flops thats just what i wear to work, gotta put the uniform on when i get here! im in the Navy, stationed at NAS Jacksonville. Most days im an electrician and busy working on our helicopters, but today is my duty day, so..... im a receptionist, answering the phone and surfin the internet.

Ocala was a great camping spot for us when we were kids. And when I was into diving we used to dive some of the caves in the campgrounds around the area. I remember tubing the springs with a few of the gf's when we were in high school. Great times. I grew up on the Banana River just south of the Space center and just north of Patrick Air Force base. I was a river rat as a kid. Fishing every chance I could for trout ( 6 to 8 lbs were common) and with a dozen or so crab traps... I was selling crabs to all the neibors on our street making some fun money. Now I hear there is so much manatee waste in the water there you can't catch crabs or trout much anymore. Never mind wake boarding or water skiing in it. Now they fish it for Red fish I guess. Times they are a changing... Water qualities are on the rise now though alot is being done to try and bring the worlds third largest natural eustuary back.. They messed it up putting in the locks at Port Canaveral. It disruputed the natural water flow. And slowly but suely killed the river system. I wish I was more into duck hunting more back then. There were ducks and birds everywhere. you know im from the ocala area and lived here most of my life and am sad to say ive never spent much time in the space coast area, i cant recall having ever fished or hunted down there. i have heard alot of good things about the area though, particularly in the last year or so, so i think i may have to venture down there sometime and check it out. i havent had as much time to hunt as i would like (who does?) so i dont have many pics,but i will certainly try to post the few that i have soon. it will probably be after the new year though as i am about to go on leave, taking a much needed vacation! it has been a rough year :) !! great talking to you Ed! take care.
