My early goose deks

Practicing my pic posting. I put these together about 1986, at one point I had a rig of 10. Hollow balsa, pine bottom boards, bass heads, no keels. Retired these to the shelf when I saw the bigfoot floaters. Hope this works, - Jim

Don't think I'd retire those Jim,they're good looking decoys, for sure.
Nice work on the red cedar striped sneak boat.Whot motor do you use?

Joe, I ran a bunch of different motors since I was collecting older ob's when I finished this boat. I had some 50's Evinrude 3 hp's and they worked fine for getting down the bay even in a good headwind. I put a Ev 6 on it for a season but it liked to freeze up and was a hard starter. I decided to quit fooling around then a bought a couple year old 8 hp Johnson and that worked very well. Lots of power and weighed in at 56 lbs. Didn't like the remote tank because I wanted the space for more decoys so I sold that and found a 5 hp Nissan. This one was reliable even in the cold but being a single it ran rougher than I wanted to put up with. So now I run my dads old '55 Ev 3hp. Starts right up in any weather and gets me down the bay. Talk about full circle. - Jim
