There is a locally produced outdoors show that is now being aired on the Outdoors Channel on fridays and saturdays. I have been viewing the show off and on for a few years up here, but now that he has some national exposure things are taking off for the small production company.

Todays show is pretty cool if you like boats and ocean fishing. They are at the Kodiak Regional Aquaculture Association Kioti Bay fish hatchery on Afognak Island catching silvers on the salt using locally made spinners. Reminds me that I need to pick up some from this kid in the spring outdoors show and do a side by side testing with the old Mepps in August.

Catching silvers on spinners, fun I guess ;) ..... but that boat!

I have seen a lot of welded heavy work boats up here and most are based on what beach set netters or purse seiners use, but this hatchery boat is a large welded semi-V garvey. It looks just awesome out on the water.

The music on the show is also local from a band that is just starting to get national radio time in some rock markets. Geezer rockers like me kind of like it when we are off our meds.

Thanks Ray. Those clips sure brought back some great memories. I have often wondered what I would have done had I been able to use the camera and the lenses that I have now. Gone Nuts. All of the clips showed teams of guys and of course most of my hunts were solo.
There is no doubt that Little Switzerland still bounds with beauty unmatched.

Ray,

Watched that show tonight. It was neat and a real surprise to see that style of boat in those waters. I'd love to spend some time up there ................. always wanted to and haven't made it yet.
