I need to replace the oil for a sump pump. It is a Zoeller pump and it takes dielectric oil. It takes only about one quart. I can not find any local and was told you can use vegetable oil???? Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day and thank you for taking a look- Tom

Try a electric motor repair shop, they likely buy it in bulk and might sell you a small amount at a better than retail price if you bring a container. We have a good relationship with the shop we use at work, and he pretty much sells me parts for cost when I need something for my personal equipment.

What's this sump pump doing? And ask yourself if it is worth the chance using something less that the right oil...

mineral or compressor oil will work. The concern is water absorbtion. Motor oil or hydrolic fluid will foam when water is present.
