That is one excellent shot, Larry. Now I would have driven many miles into the city to get that shot and then left---post haste!

Larry,

I saw the reports on TV but that pales in comparison to having the plane and shuttle actually fly right over you. I'm sure it was a neat experience.
 
We have the NASA channel on TVs all over our site at work, so I saw the lift off yesterday morning. Then had a dentist appt at 10:30, while awaiting my turn, someone opened the front door and let us know the shuttle was flying over. Not as close as your shot, but it was still melancholy to witness for the last time.
 
Larry a bunch of us were up on the roof top , in Bethesda, and watched it go around twice! Definitely too cool and the picture dont quite capture just how big that thing was. Great picture none the less!!
 
Good observation about the landing gear. It must come down in a hurry, cause they did land shortly after flying over.

I took that photo with a point and shoot camera. A co-worker on the roof with a digital SLR and zoom lens took much better pics.

NYer's get ready for the Enterprise to be coming to your area.
