My 13 year old lab had begun bleeding as usual with her heat cycle back in late October/early November and hadn't stopped and the flow had increased. After several visits with our vet he convinced us to have her spayed. He thought maybe there was something else going on and this would be the best avenue to take. Now it's been 2 weeks and 3 days and now at times she seems to be hemorrhaging. Then it stops and is basically a drip. Now he tells me he thinks it's a bladder infection and puts her on meds and if this doesn't stop it he's suggesting experimental surgery to find a cause. He did find a tumor and sent it for pathology. On top of the 2k we've spent over the past few weeks he wants me to surgery. Costs he says would start around 4k. I'm at a loss. I'm afraid I'll have to put her down. I'm open to thoughts on why she may still be bleeding so much. Thanks for reading.
