NDR---- Fly Rod ?

Don't know anything about that maker but I can tell you the price they have on their IM7 and IM8 rods on ebay are about what it would cost to buy just a blank.

I've never heard of them. Looking at the rods on ebay my thoughts are: they must be using some closeout blanks, and the components are cheap. They use aluminum oxide guides, which are the cheapest you can get. Aluminum reels seats can be okay, but you really need to see it in person to know. Can you cast one to see if you would like it?

Google up St.Croix Rods. They have been in business a long time and are on the cutting edge. They are in Park Falls Wis. I was working there and a fellow at work talked about a rod he had purchased there. I checked it out. I have owned quite a few rods and this is the best I have owned. It was a factory second,a small smear on the glass. The brand name on the rod was a upscale retailer. For 40 dollars I had bought a 250 dollar rod. I wish now I had bought there 80 dollar rod.(; )

Hi Mat,

I bought a 7'6" 4wt a couple of years ago. Had great intentions of hitting the small "cricks" in SE MN and whoopin up on some of those trouts. Hasn't happened. I've used it on a few bluegills and that was a ball. This rod was made in China (Model# axis 7624 IM-8) and I think I paid about $50.00 for it at a fishing expo here. Coarse the guy selling it had nothing but good to tell me bout it. Don't know if they are assembling in Winona or importing, my guess would be the latter. If I had to do it over again I prolly would. I wanted an inexpensive light weight graphite fly rod, thats what I got. The amount of use it's getting it'll probably be a lifetime investment, eh. ;^)
