NDR - Tax season ends today!!!

I cant imagine being a tax preparation accountant, given the complexity and ever-changing nature of our tax code, how in the world do y'all keep up???
We've turned what should be a simple calculation (X% time income = taxes) into a nightmare.

I always remember that the Titanic sank on April 15th. That anniversary seems an appropriate memory when I hit send on the tax e-pay button, as I did two hours ago. (n)☹️
 
I did my taxes last week. My wife and I are truly blessed with very good middle-class incomes. It angers me every year to see how much we pay in taxes, knowing what much of those tax dollars are spent on, with so much else going on in this great nation. Not meaning to get too political, but we could feed, clothe, and house every child in America with the recently uncovered grifts of a few states receiving federal dollars, alone.
 
I find the fact that approximately 14% of the federal budget goes to paying just the interest on our growing National Debt particularly frightening.
~$7,000 per person per year.
More than spending on national defense or Medicare.
Not paying any of the principal, just the interest.
