New decoys

Great decoys...but that coot/widgeon is awesome!!! Do you have any more pictures of it from other angles? Are they just joined at the keel? What kind of material it the grass?

Great work! Keep it up and post some more pictures please.

Best,
Chuck

I have to agree with everyone else.... Nice birds, with the "robber" combo being the highlight.

I have to ask though.... Is that black and white picture on the bulletin board the famous picture of Lee Harvey Oswald getting capped in the Dallas cop shop? Just wondering....

Again nice blocks,

Jeff

Andy, these are great looking decoys..........be sure to post them here more often................Kevin

Thanks for the kind words. All of these are basswood hollowed out with whatever wood I found in the shop for the keel. I stole the idea from something Keith Mueller did a year or two ago with a scoter and eider fighting over a cephalopod of some sorts. We don't get many of those ducks through Illinois so I went with widgeon and coot. I have attached some other pictures of this one. Glad you enjoyed them. Jeff, yes that is a picture of LH Oswald sort of. The bulletin board is here at work and occationally I will get someone looking at the pictures. That one always gets a double take. Andy

P.S. The vegetation is actually a plastic aquarium plant from wally world. I tried carving something but after the third time of it breaking I decided for mental and decoy health I would go this route.

Andy, the coot/widgeon decoy is great! Thought it might be a table piece, but you whole keel design just ads to the concept. Sure would like to see picks of that "rig" on the water. Very innovative!
