so basically I got a new job, I'll be saving lives as a EMT-Basic/Driver for Decatur EMS in Alabama. Today was my first day and I work again tommorrow, for anyone that'll be in the area tommorrow move out of my way because I've always been a fast driver, give me some lights and sirens and somebody in the back about to die and you'd better get out of my way. I know this is a duck hunting forum but I just had to share it with ya'll.

Oh boy, am I glad I don't live in [font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]Decatur! I can see it now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Tom is on his way to the hospital with a very injured crash victim in back. Lights are flashing, sirens going and he's got the pedal to the metal, but wait,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, whats that, 3 lanes over? Yes, it is, somebody is towing a custom built wooden duck boat and those have got to be hand carved corkers bouncing around in the cockpit.

Tom eventually gets his victim to the hospital but not without a short detour and chat with a fellow duck hunter.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Hope you enjoy your new job Tom, congrats and best wishes.

Thanks Dave it's been pretty slow today we've only run a total of three calls with two transports. Nothing too exciting. Typical sunday though, everybody's probably at home watching tv and sleeping.

I was in a volunteer fire department years ago. We responded to many crashes as the FD was located near a major roadway. I passed out a lot, so I was relegated to directing traffic ; )

Congratulations on your new job !

One of my best friends got his career started doing what you are doing. He ended up managing several Ambulance Companies before switching careers and being and FBI agent. All that EMS work paid off as his new emplyer and coworkers like having him around should bullets fly.

Congrats and stop by the next time you are in the neighborhood.

You are my hero. I have the utmost respect for those that choose that profession. It takes guts galore to speed into the situations that require your services...Congrats and thanks.

Thanks Lee that really means a lot to hear, we had a 4 car MVA today which was pretty exciting, luckily everyone was alright. It sure was fun speeding to the scene though.
