New P/C bandsaw...Has anyone tried it?

I saw that Lowe's is carrying a Porter-Cable 14" bandsaw. The website has it listed as a 1.5 HP motor for $400. Has anyone tried this saw or heard anything about them? Anyone know who makes it for them? I'm looking into getting serious about this decoy carving thing, and need a decent piece of equipment but don't want to spend delta money.

I'm not positive but I think P.C. and delta are owned by the same parent co. now. I own a bunch or smaller P.C. tools, routers, sanders, plate jointer, nailguns, etc. and I love them. But I have not heard much about their new line of larger shop tools. I think they are probably made by the same co. that produces the delta stuff. Just a lower end product for people like us that can't drop thousands of dollars on a single tool. Good luck with it if you decide to get it. Luke

How much for the riser block to allow you to cut heights above 6"? Add that cost to the equation. New model years/makes are not things I tend to buy. I wait a few to find out the "word" on the street.

There are several "bandsaw" threads, do a search to find out other peoples opinion on these.
