New version of teardrop camper

On my way to work I think I see a metal version of the old style teardrop camper on the side of the road with flashers on. I pull behind the guy (from Florida) and ask if he needs any help and to enquire about the camper he was pulling. He was looking for a gas station and since I was heading there as well, told him to follow behind. Anyway, I get to the station and had all sorts of questions about his tow behind teardrop. He said this camper is being produced today in a small town in Wisconsin and that the manufacturer has basically revived the old teardrop style campers which I have always found fascinating. Took a couple of pic's and found the website. Sure is a neat little camper. Would be perfect for duck hunting remote areas.

Mark,

I have seen these before and I still have the same reaction. I sit waiting for about forty circus clowns and two monkeys to come climbing out of one of these.

pretty cool mini-camper for solo trips or for trips with the wife.

I've always thought that would be a cool way to go. I have a directory full of sites, plans and hardware vendors. I have a plan I drew up several years ago with a roof that opens up like an old VW camper so one could stand up to stretch or get dressed yet fold flat to place cross bars for hauling a canoe or kayak. Hadn't run across this design before.

Saw one up on Beaver Island last month. He was at a primative campground and had it equipped with a solar panel to power a ceiling fan and his laptop...really roughing it!

There's a company called Little Guy trailers here in ohio. There the largest manufacturer of this type trailer in the world. They make eight or so diferent versions.

Tom.

Seriously, am I the only one whose back hurts just looking at it? I looked through the pictures hoping the roof would lift up for some head room. Am I missing something or just too old?

Headed out to see if any intellectually challenged geese are flying.

Scott,

Think of it as a hard sided backpacking tent. I would have to park next to my Chiropractor I was thinking of what wet wader's and wet dog's would make the thing smell like. I never thought of duck hunters as minimizer's.I crawled into one at Gander mountain a few summers ago it wasn't pretty.

The guy I met runs a kayak rental/guide service on the island. I think he summed up the comfort of his trailer in his comment that it beats sleeping in a tent for four months.

Mark,

"A boatload of money" is an understatement!!

You could buy an used Airstream for what this sells for! Check out this website: http://vintageairstream.com/airstream-price-guide/

I remember a Fall, about 30 years ago. My son and I were hunting the Black Brook Flowage Wildlife area on opening day. After picking up decoys at the end of the day and motoring to shore, we ran into our neighbor, who drove up in his Winnebago. We planned on tent camping that night, but instead dined on prime rib and sat around and played cards until midnight.

I want to know, where do you store the prime rib, cook it, along with baked potatoes and lemon bars, hang you waders to dry, play cards with three other guys, and get a good nights sleep?

Like my bride says about our friend's aft cabin 38' Carver..... "It's like sleeping in a closet, with a chance of drowning"!
