New York's Sotheast Zone Duck Opener

Well the Southeast Duck opener here in NY was a good one even though the flight birds are just starting to come down from the great lakes and St Lawrence River. SAT filled the limit with woodies teal and local mallards in a big hard wood swamp beaver pond. Fun gunning but not the decoying fat mallards from Canada yet. My buddy limited aswell and his 12 year old soon shot a single drake woodie that me and my buddy both missed with Jeremy anchoring him as he was busting out of the hole, really nice shot. Sunday I went to hunt the river with another buddy and ran into some nice northern birds shot 4 mallard drakes and a Gadwell Drake. My buddy had some gun malfunctions and ended up with only 1 mallard boy was he hot. So all in all not a bad weekend hunting a federal conservation area on Wednesday pulled a permit for the first time this year well see how that goes. Hopefully with the cold northwest winds and fronts moving through we will get some new birds in the area. How are the reports from the great lakes Ontario and St lawrence birds moving through? The early sign is for a great duck season and hopefully goes straight through till december, good luck and push the birds down to central NY for me guys.
