Just wanted to let people know that on Sept. 18 and 19 is the Northeast Waterfowl Festival and Carving Competition at Cabela's in East Hartford, CT. This event is sponsered by DU and Cabela's. For more information on what is going on check out the web site at www.northeastwaterfowlfestival.com. Also if someone wants to display their decoys, calls or other waterfowl gear get in touch with me and I am sure we can set you up with a table. I am also looking for people to give seminars or demonstrations and people to help out. If you have a idear or want to know more or have questions let me know, either by email (revcoys56@yahoo.com) or give me a call (860)338-3590. If you or if you know of someone that might want to help as a sponser let me know also.
Thanks Pete

Hi Steve, Look forward to meeting you and your brother. What are you going to be displaying? Also we are meeting this weekend and are still looking for carvers to display their works. Thanks Pete

Emphasis on the word "display".......I don't think any "selling" of anything is allowed. I have to go represent CWA at a meeting for this after work today. You going to be there Pete?

Hi Jim, I will be there, and you are right about the displaying of the carvers decoys. But if someone wants to buy a decoy from one of the carvers that will be displaying their work it is OK, just do it out in the parking lot. It is a Cabela's thing, and if someone wants to get more info or has questions I would be happy to talk to them.
Thanks Pete

I don't think at the time there is going to be anyone selling wood. With the show at Cabela's they don't want any of the vendors selling items. But I know that there are some carvers coming from Maine and if you want I can give you the names and contact #'s and maybe you can have them bring some down for you. Just send me a Message if you want the info. Thanks Pete

Hi Guys, Just a little bump for the event. Every thing is coming together and it is only 2 months away. If you want to display your items or become a sponsor I am sure we can work something out. Also we are looking for people to help out with the event so if you want send me a email or we are having a meeting on 7/20 at Cabela's at 5:00. If you have any questions let me know. Thanks Pete

Pete,

I just looked around the site again and seems some of the links don't work or are under construction. I'm looking for the rules, categorys and entry forms for the carving competition. So far i've got eight ready and hopefully can get a couple more done before the show two of which may be entered into the working bird group. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting a few new guys.

Mike

Hi Mike, We hope to have all the rules finished and posted in a week or two. As far as the gunners the rules are just like most of the shows. I will let you know when the rules are finished. Also Mike I will be giving you a call to give you a update. Thnaks Pete

Hi Pete,

Hope you are well. Thinking about attending this event and maybe having a table. Two questions - 1) What is the cost for a table? 2) Is there a place to stay down there close to Cabelas? 3) If I bring my carving setup, can I carve and demo at my table?

OK, that's really three questions!

Thanks,
Nate

Nate, There is a hotel nearby that has agreed to show rooms for $60 a night. Also, I think there are still spaces available for displays . . .where you could carve while doing the display. A good bet might be to give Joe Rizzo a call at 617-784-7789. He has the most updated list of available space. Rich

Hi Nate, Rich is right on and if you can't get in touch with Joe give me a call. Do you know if Jim is coming? If he is see if he wants a booth. The rules for the gunners should be posted this week. Thanks Pete

Hi, Are you talking about the Tuckerton Show? If you are,it is a great show with good people. Some of the N.J. people can tell you more about it. The rules for the Northeast Waterfowl Festival should be on the web site and we are still looking for sponsors for ads in the program (50.00 gets you a ad in the program and on web site). Thanks Pete
