Just returned from my third summer inventorying colonies of eider ducks on the south coast of Baffin Island in Arctic Canada. This summer we set up camp about 150 km east of Kinngait (old name Cape Dorset). Our camp was comprised of 4 wall tents surrounded by a bear fence. Although we are all there to work on eider ducks, the most memorable moments in the field are not the ducks but the people.
We are working a crew comprised of three generations of Inuit. Despite the incredible hardships these people have endured over the generations they are the funniest people you will ever meet. They are always joking and laughing and it's contagious. While in camp, they decided to give Adamie a haircut. The started with a knife, but eventually grabbed the bannock bowl and a pair of scissors from the kitchen tent. Simeonie (Sim) is on the camera and his laughter ... well you can watch the rest.
