I mentioned yesterday a report from a warden acquaintance who had checked 15 parties on Saturday without seeing a single bagged duck. That was on freshwater rivers. Usually, if there are no ducks showing there I'll head for the coast.

Today he patrolled about 25 miles of shoreline on coastal bays by boat and reported not seeing more than a dozen dabblers, very few eiders, and no geese.

It's not looking good for my Thanksgiving coastal hunt.
 
I hope you're right about our ducks headed to you, but these are the conditions when we usually see birds piling onto the coast. We get a lot of over-wintering black ducks on the coast here, and they usually show up just as the inland puddles freeze.
