Good morning-
I am preparing to retire this year, and, N.S. or Newfoundland Moose is on my bucket list for 2027.
Hoping that some of you will share any favorable experiences with N.S outfitters?
Also, what time of year did you hunt?
Appreciate any/all feedback!
Thank you in advance!

Not Nova Scotia but I've had 3 successful moose hunting trips to Newfoundland. All 3 times I hunted the 1st week of October - can't help with NS outfitter info.

I am open to Newfoundland - could you share the outfitter?
When was your last trip?
I should have said that originally, my destinations would be: Newfoundland, NS, Quebec(last choice)
Thank you!

I’ve been trying to book a good outfitter for Newfoundland in 2027 as well. Most are out 2028 and beyond. Let me know what you figure out.

I'm one year into retirement. You will love it. I went on a Montana Waterfowl hunt. It's only money. You can't take it with you. Enjoy.

Bruce & Kevin,
My 1st Nfld hunt was 2013 when I took a cow on the last day with my longbow. 2014 - longbow bull mid week. 2019 - rifle bull on the last afternoon when he wouldn't come into bow range. All 3 hunts were with Portland Creek Outfitters at the same camp because it is one of 2 camps with higher archery success (out of 9 or 10 camps they operate). With a rifle I'd have taken a bull the first year too as he was at 8 yds. While communication with Portland Creek Outfitters can be frustrating at times, their success rate is consistently very high (90%+). Camps are comfortable with good 1x1 guides and cooks. Pete
