You better have a 4X4 and a light boat if You use this launch. Lots of extra work but it was worth it.

Rob, that just taunting us guys now! We have a September goose season but our early split doesn't open until Nov 10.

Rob,
Your pictures are getting me pumped for the season. I sure hope we get some winter weather this year. Some snow, ice, and cold to make the birds move.

CAnderson,
Nov. 10th I can't wait that long you gotta go hit the other zones to get an early start. Oct 20th the south zone opens 40 days 17hours and 29min. But who's counting.

Nice hunt! Are you hunting out in the open from a boat blind? Do you hunt the same way during the regular duck season? I was thinking about setting up a blind on my boat. The area lakes and rivers are low and make hunting from traditional shore blinds a problem. I use to have a home-made blind on my old smaller boat and had some good success from it. But I was usually set up close to a wooded shore line and helped me to blend in better. May not be able to get that close this year unless we get some significant rain.

Tom, right now im just hunting out of my boat with the camo nets on it parked on a mudflat no cover. For teal this is not a problem. They just see decoys and go to them. For big duck season I will have to build a low willow blind to park the boat in. I hope we get those El Nino fall rains and Im hunting flooded grass.

THanks for the report and pics Rob. THe boat looks very good! You are causing trouble for me at home. I have a long list of honeydos, before I can turn my attention to getting ready for hunting!!

Thanks Rob. I know what you mean about the rain. I've got a couple of places that I would like to use a boat blind. You think my 16ft tracker with a blind will work in the same kind of set up as you use with yours?

Yes it will work. I go for comfort and I go to watch the action. Those two things will not allow you to fool all the birds. You will however fool enough ducks to make for a Great hunt that you could comfortably watch and enjoy.

Rob,

That ramp looks familiar, only Friday's ramp I had to turn 90 degrees and back up river to find enough dew to float the boat. Bunks never got wet either launching or retrieving.

Loved those pics, Rob. Congrats on those good looking birds. Speaking of El Nino, the local meteorologist said that we can expect some back to normal times. That was good to hear. Once again I'm looking at all that water you have. I'm glad you are driving us all nuts with your success and great looking rig you now have!

Very nice. I was just in OK doing some pipeline work and stopped by Salt Plains NWR. The blue-wings were everywhere on that lake. Thousands. Pretty cool place with the salt flats and the concentrations of ducks and shorebirds.
