I took my son out Sunday with the hopes he might be able to get some ducks and I got to say I'm one proud papa . We got into this spot and right away started seeing birds over head and on the water. The first two birds came in and landed a little too far for his 20ga so we just let them sit there in hopes they would bring in some more, but they didn’t . After a few minutes of them leaving we had a single fly a few circles before she decided to land about 20yds from us. I had him slowly stand up in the boat and I told him as soon as the bird jumped to pull the trigger and that’s just what he did, dropped her stone dead in her tracks. After the retrieve another one came in and we tried it all over again this time however he missed with two shots. About a half hour later this tiny little rocket came out of nowhere and landed about 30yds away from the boat. He gets up jumps her and one shot and she's back on the water stone dead. That was pretty much the end of the birds flying so we decided to call it a morning and go grab some breakfast. He ended up shooting a hen mallard and a hen green wing teal. The really awsome thing here is those were the two first birds I killed 23 years ago on my first hunt, what are the odds ? Now I cant wait untill the regular season gets here so we can lay the smack down on them togater with Uncle Anthony.
