OK - so how's this for a "First Duck" Story?

We had our youth today and Chelsie and her father were assigned to hunt from the airboat with me. Paul's son stayed home. So anyway we tryed several spots for Teal and there were quite a few, but all were well trained cruise missles, so I ran over to a spot that the Ringers liked and found about 2000 birds. We moved to the "black hole" and while I was paddling back to the set-up, I got to see her drop her first duck... a very nice skeet shot, the bird crumpled and wiggled the daffys a few times. Then for the next 2 hrs, Chelsie wittled away at the 50 shells dad brought for her, 5 left when she was done. The Ringers were still fluttering over the decoys when she was done; 6 Ringers, 4 drakes, one lost, and 2 hens. Dad and I were laughing and smiling the whole time.

John that's great. I bet she had a super time. Maybe next year she'll bring some of her friends and expand our circle somewhat.

That's great. You know Hitch I think those are the first pictures you've ever posted of a rainy day.

We didn't have much weather this year. We still had a great season but there were more sunny days than anything else and almost no rain. I used the flash for all the photos. The flash I have is actually quite a bit of work to master. I had to read the manual :) I can't say I have it entirely figured out but the photos turned out nice with it. I need to remember to bring it with me is the big thing, then remember to use it.

not much weather you say! as i said before - sleeveless and sun screen duck huntin is unfamiliar to us northern boys -- so i'm wonderin what all those heaters in you boat remodel were for???

They're for my trips up to MO and IA and maybe WI. I grew up in Iowa, and try to get up there every year, but the hurricanes messed up plans for awhile. I am planning a trip next season, hopefully 3 or 4 weeks to the Mississippi and Missouri flyways, boats and dogs in tow... well boat in tow, and dogs in kennels.
