Since I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a brand new outfit, I am putting my 'Ole Boat up for adoption to a good home.
1983, 14' Smoker Craft Alaskan, aluminum semi-V. Years ago when I bought it, it had a 20" transom. I only had a short shaft motor, so I cut the transom to fit. A couple years ago, I bought a long shaft motor, so I fabricated a Jack Plate to raise the motor. The boat does NOT HAVE A MOTOR.
I put a wooden deck around most of the perimeter and a few other minor modifications. It has a genuine Bankes Boats 1000 D Cordura blind on her that has been custom modified and is actually better than the original.
The real gem is the trailer. It's a 2011 Load Rite 14' fully galvanized model with a 1000# cap, 13" tires, spare tire on carrier, tongue jack, transom saver and a pair of extra bunks. The extra bunks make loading her up a breeze. I've loaded her up in a heavy cross current, and it loads like a dream.
Here are a couple photos I dug up from a while ago. Now, I'm not going to lie, this thing has been sitting out in a field for the last year and it needs a little TLC. The wood deck could use a couple coats of paint. I have really been thinking a couple coats of "Deck Restore" would be perfect. The transom is a little soft. Probably should be re-built. And while I don't see, nor can I find any loose rivets, there are a couple tiny pinholes in the bottom somewhere. I used it quite a bit last year and after sitting out in the water for the better part of the day, I get a few gallons of water in it. I found one pinhole and riveted it, but I think there may be another or two. It's actually fairly solid otherwise. Nothing a day or two in the shop can't take care of.
Located in central Portage County, NE Ohio.
I would to get somewhere around $1000 for the rig.
Thanks for looking. PM me or call me at (330) 289-8219.
