I can't find what I need around here and I only need couple dozen assorted #12 wood screws and flathead bolts in silicon bronze , so I don't want to buy by the 100 (that would be like $300-400 if I had to buy by the 100 ct box).

Anyone got an online source?

Great Link thanks! I have been using McMaster-Carr, where I think the prices are better, but you do have to buy in defined quantities of the smaller stuff. But you can never have too many SS screws, washers, nuts, and bolts, can you? No matter how many I have, I always need another one to finish the project!

TRY THE ABOVE SITE.THEY SHOW BOX PRICING BUT I CALLED AND FOUND I COULD BUY BOLTS BY THE PIECE.

Thanks Joe,

I order from Hamilton (just got two nice new shiny bronze cleats and some 4200 from them this week), but I had already placed my order when I read this, bummer. I called Jamestown Dist and they don't sell by the piece, so I figgured Hamilton didn't either.

Best,

The last time I tried to order small quantities Jamestown told me they now only sell a full box. I cancelled the order they were working on and told them I woud find another supplier that would fill my order completely and that their new policy discouraged me from buying from them. I called Hamilton and ordered everything I needed from them. I'm the type of person that likes to deal with as few places as possible and will even pay a little more if it keeps me from placing multiple orders, providing my info multiple times, and waiting on multiple shipments. I like one stop shopping whenever possible and Jamestown greatly reduced, if not lost, my business with their new policy.

The big benefit that Jamestown has is that it is a 1 day ship for me, but Hamilton is 2 days and they dont' seem to get it out the door as soon as Jamestown. Either way, like you I like to deal with as few places as possible, I wish I'd waited 20 minutes to see that Hamilton does by the piece, anyway, I'll survive.

All the hardware stores here stock complete lines of stainless and we have a west marine that has a good supply, so stainless is never an issue. I wanted to go with Silicon bronze to match my cleats and chocks, seems kinda bush to fasten bronze with SS. Nothing like ordering $35 dollars in bolts of bronze when ti would have been 15 for SS.

I ordered from jamestown last week and they split a box of a hundred bronze #8 wood screws to the 25 that I needed. I used their website but was not happy with it. Its probably me but I find better results when I call the order in and speak to a real live person. Thats how I got them to split the box. bob

Sounds great! I'm always shocked how fast McMaster-Car gets thing out too. I'd guess it's from working with industrial customers that really need it NOW. If you need Silicon Bronze bolts, don't forget Fastenal. You can drive to them. Unfortunately they don't seem to have wood screws. Nuts, Bolts and washers but no wood screws.
