I have a lightly used Orvis Silver Label TL, 8.6', 2.75 oz., 4wt. line Fly Rod. It is in excellent shape and only lightly used.......by a little old lady on Sunday mornings. Ok...not the little old lady but it is lightly used and in excellent shape. It includes the rod sleeve and rod case.
Also included is a Orvis Rocky Mountain 3/4 Reel with Fly Line, Leader and Reel Case. Except for a couple scratches on the reel, it's in excellent shape.
I have not fished it but I have cast it and it's a smooth casting rod and the line handles nicely.
Looking for $140 and I can ship.
Holler with any questions.

Is it 4 wt line on the reel? How long as that line been wound on the reel?

I need another fly rod like I need herpes, but... I really would like a something lighter than my 6 wt.

Hi Hank,
There is no label that tells me what weight fly line is on it. It casts well and is a balanced outfit. Personally, I overweight my rods by one line weight as they tend to load and cast much better. This feels like the same deal but I can't say for sure.

Line has been on the reel about a year...maybe slightly longer as the fella I got it from bought it and didn't take the time to learn to use it and sold it to me.

My personal favorite rods is one I won at Liars Night at our club. It's an Orvis Rocky Mountain 4 wt, 9'. I use a 5 wt. floating line on it and switch off with a Wulff Triangle Taper 4 wt. line and it's sweet.
