Osage Vantage PT duck boat

I just got a used duck boat kind of unlike anything I have had before. Was wondering if any of you may have had one or know someone who did? The Osage Vantage is 14' long and 5' across the bottom. It's pretty wide and stable no doubt. It is made of aluminum and riveted together. The aluminum is not super thick, yet the boat appears and feel strong. It has a kind of weaker looking transom on it but is rated for a 15 hp engine. It appears to be set up for duck hunting and being easy to hide the way it is decked over and set up. The front end and rear end are identical except for the transom. Osage pt front top.jpgOsage Vantage transome.jpgOsage PT VIN.jpgosage vant bottom.jpg

I dunno about duck hunting but it appears to be a good vessel for fly fishing thin water. Lots of room to cast, no clutter to catch the line, and hand holds. Or it may just be that I'm more inclined to think about fly fishing these days than duck hunting.[wink]

Best regards

Yes, based on the weather, heat and all I can understand that. I never thought about the fly-fishing use but your right. It is wide open, stable and low sided.

Interesting hull. Put a small mud motor on there and you could hunt some really skinny water.
But given the lack of gunnel depth, not a rough water hull for sure!
