Outboard cover? I can't find Steve Sanfords Tutorial

As it turns out, my original TDB motor cover, which would probably fit a 50hp 2 stroke, doesn't quite fit the new Suzuki 25hp 4 stroke. I'm not ready to paint the motor yet, So I need to make a new cover. I can't find the tutorial that Steve did a few months ago.

Follow up question: how heavy duty of a sewing machine is needed to sew through Cordura and webbing?

Go to Rockywoods Fabrics website for your thread, webbing and buckles- Gutermans thread was what we used (the $4.49 spools are more than adequate to sew a motor cover). My wife used to work as a sail maker during summers while she was in college. She sewed a pair of #10 YKK open, two-way zippers on the rainroof panel of my TDB-17, enabling me to replace the additional blind support pole and use the rainroof as a "filler" to block the open portion of the blind when hunting alone or with one other person. This really made a difference on high incoming birds, as well as increasing the interior warmth in the boat's cockpit. She was quite impressed by how well this thread fed through her Viking.

Schmetz 110/18, or 110/20 needles.
